Ministry of Finance issued Decision on Implementation of Lao National Single Window No. 2109/MoF, dated 26 June 2015, which specifies position, role, duty, right, structure, work plan and principles for developing and operationalizing national single window to facilitate procedures for requesting and issuing export, import, and transit permits by using modern electronic system in exchanging information and documents with government sectors, within private sectors, and between government sectors and private sectors. The Decision aims to facilitate trade, expedite goods flow, reduce trade cost, promote trade competitiveness, which contribute to national socio-economic development and enhance national capacity for linking the Lao National Single Window with that of ASEAN.
